On 2nd October 1977, St Luke’s Church, Anna
Nagar was bifurcated from Kilpauk and
erected as a parish by His Grace Dr R
Arulappa, the then Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore . The first Parish Priest was
Fr Paul Maruthanakuzhi, SSP. From its inception, this Parish was entrusted to
the Pauline Priests. In 1990 the church was extended. The Parishioners built an
adoration chapel and a Church dedicated to the Divine Mercy. The Divine Mercy Chuch was blessed and consecrated on
the 29th of June 2003 by Most Rev Dr Arul Das James,
the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore. The Parish has three sub-stations.
